Investigators recently identified two suspects after newly discovered cellular evidence, according to police. In February, warrants were issued for Jose Angel Marquez and Gilbert Salazar.

On Feb. 11, police interviewed Marquez at a police station in Kansas City, Kansas.

Marquez told police he and three other men went to an Albuquerque apartment and fired shots into the door, where Garcia was later found dead, police said. Marquez said he moved to Kansas in 2000.
