An employee at the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans has been arrested after he allegedly killed his co-worker.
Around 10 a.m. July 29., New Orleans police officers responded to a call of aggravated battery by shooting.
When they arrived, authorities found a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds to the chest, according to New Orleans police.
The victim was transported via ambulance to the hospital, where he later died.
The suspect, Damon Rideau, 31, was arrested at the scene, police said.
Rideau was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count of second-degree murder. Authorities say Rideau and the victim knew each other and were both employees at the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans.
Investigators did not say what led to the shooting or if it happened when both men were working.
