NFL star Richard Sherman being held in jail on domestic violence charge, bail denied

NFL star Richard Sherman is behind bars in Washington and accused of a domestic-violence related charge.
Sherman was booked into a Seattle jail around 6 a.m. on July 14 on a charge of burglary-domestic violence.
Bail was denied in his case, according to jail records.
Police have yet to release any details about the incident that led to Sherman’s arrest. But, the nature of the charge alleges unlawful entry into a building. There are two degrees, with the more serious count involving violence or a deadly weapon.

Both charges can include lengthy prison sentences if convicted.
Sherman is currently a free agent cornerback in the NFL. He has been one of the league’s best defenders for the past decade. Sherman most recently played for the San Francisco 49ers, but broke into the league with the Seattle Seahawks.
