An argument outside a North Carolina bar turned deadly and police say a suspect was charged with murder.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office announced that deputies were called to a bar early April 24 and found an Oklahoma man, Tracy Herman, 51, unresponsive.
A woman at the bar performed CPR on Herman until medical personnel arrived and continued life-saving measures on Herman, police said.
However, the life-saving measures did not work and Herman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
According to investigators, the bar’s camera system showed a man, who they identified as Mark Clark Campbell III, 30, get into an argument with Herman and punch him in the head.
Police stated the punch rendered Herman unconscious, but Campbell then struck Herman several more times before fleeing the scene.
Campbell turned himself in to investigators and they charged him with one open count of murder, according to authorities.
He is being held without bond.
Authorities stated that Herman’s body has been sent to the medical examiner’s officer for an autopsy to determine his specific cause of death.
