On Sunday, Brittany Gosney reported to the Middletown Division of Police that her son was missing. Police continued to question Gosney and her boyfriend James Hamilton, where they learned the truth.

The two said Hutchinson was killed in Preble County a few days earlier, according to police. The child’s body was brought back to Middletown and was later put in the Ohio River. The couple lives in Middletown.

Crews are trying to recover Hutchinson’s body from the river, but conditions make it difficult.

“The river is very high and treacherous, so we will not be disclosing the exact location in hopes of avoiding another tragic incident,” police noted in a news release.

Authorities charged Gosney, 29, with murder and tampering with evidence. They also charged Hamilton, 42, with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

Two other children lived in the home and have been removed, according to police.
