20-year-old man accused of shooting, killing teenage girlfriend during argument

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the murder of his 17-year-old girlfriend, authorities said.

Around 6:30 p.m. on March 27, Cincinnati police responded to a report of a person being shot.

Police found the victim — identified as Avionne Chichester, 17 — with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital, where she died, according to Cincinnati police.

According to WXIX, Chichester had a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said Chichester’s boyfriend, Javonte Dixon, shot her in the stomach, according to WXIX. Investigators have not said what led to the argument.

Dixon was arrested and charged with murder. He was booked into jail and is being held on $1 million bond.
