On July 15, officials said a 17-year-old girl stabbed the teen victim using a machete for an unknown reason while at Hueston Woods State Park.

Officers from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources found the suspect sitting in a chair and the victim was next to her covered in blood, Fox 19 reported.

Police have not released the name of the victim or suspect as both are juveniles.

According to authorities, the victim had large cuts to her legs, chest, arms and head.

While the actual motive behind the assault is not known, officials said drugs appear to be a factor.

Police said the suspect was charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault and one count of assault.

The teenager is being held in juvenile detention and she is set to appear in court on Aug. 6, police said.
