An Ohio woman stabbed her 3-year-old neighbor, but police say her own daughter reported the incident to a teacher over Zoom.
On March 4, the 3-year-old boy was outside with his older brother, who was waiting for the school bus, police said.
That is when Xiaoyan Zhu attacked the 3-year-old boy with a ceramic knife outside of their home, according to authorities.
At the time, Zhu’s daughter was doing virtual learning and saw what had happened, so she told her teacher something was wrong. That teacher called 911, as reported by Local 12.
Investigators stated that the child was not seriously hurt.

Zhu was arrested and was charged with felonious assault.
During her court appearance, Zhu’s attorney entered a not guilty plea and stated doctors have regulated her medication and her mental health issue is now under control.
Prosecutors asked for a high bond and stated that the victim’s family “are in fear for their family’s safety,” according to authorities.
Prosecutors went on to say, “The primary concerns should be the public safety, and we have a document here indicating multiple incidents over the past few months with the defendant that show that she's a danger sometimes to herself, sometimes to others."
The judge set Zhu’s bond at $1 million.
