The resident ran into the garage to get away from Christopher and told him to leave multiple times, police said. Christopher then locked himself and the resident in the garage to prevent her from leaving.

The resident was able to contact police, though they didn’t say how, so they would respond. When police arrived, the resident was able to allow them into the garage.

Christopher was charged with kidnapping and first-degree burglary.
