“The Department of Justice is committed to that mission, and under the leadership of acting Attorney General Blanche, we are delivering with a coordinated, all-hands-on-deck effort to identify, charge, and convict s----- predators. “The s----- exploitation of minors is an abomination with no place in society. We will hunt down these offenders, hold them fully accountable under the law, and deliver justice for victims,” he said.

Among the victims was a 10-year-old child from Utah who was recovered and returned home after being taken abroad along with the child’s biological mother. The child had reportedly been on what was believed to be a camping trip with a parent, a partner and another child. Instead, the group traveled from Canada to Mexico and then to Cuba.
Authorities expressed concern that the child may have been taken to Cuba for gender-related medical procedures. The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Victim Services Division assisted in the recovery, providing crisis support and stabilization services for the child.
