An Oregon man was run over and killed in a grocery store parking lot in Portland and police say his wife has been arrested and charged with his murder.

Around 9 p.m. on Aug. 27, police said they found Thurston Harris, 48, pinned under a car in a grocery store parking lot in Portland’s St. Johns neighborhood.

The Portland Fire & Rescue team came and removed the man from under the car and determined he was dead, officials said.

An autopsy by the medical examiner’s officer determined the man’s death was a homicide from blunt force trauma to the torso, according to authorities.

Police determined Tera A. Harris, 49, was the suspect after driving over her husband and killing him in the grocery store parking lot.

Officers have not said why they believe Harris allegedly ran over her husband or the motive for the murder.

Harris was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center and was charged with second-degree domestic violence murder and unlawful use of a weapon, Oregon Live reported.

The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
