An Oklahoma man is under arrest in connection to the shooting death of his girlfriend following an argument outside a restaurant in Texas.

Around 8:30 p.m. on April 30, Mario Alberto Rodriquez, 30, allegedly shot Marisela Mendoza, 23, multiple times outside Texas Roadhouse in Amarillo before fleeing the scene in a Dodge Charger, police said, KVII-TV reported.

Eyewitness Cathlina King told the station she was sitting near a window inside the establishment with her children when the shooting occurred nearby.

“It was so loud in there, we did not [hear it], but we saw it right after it happened,” King said. “It was scary at first because a bullet could have easily come through a window.”

The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where she passed away from her injuries, and authorities issued an AMBER Alert for two girls who they believed were abducted — Adalynn Rodriquez, 5, and 8-year-old Ariaen Rodriquez.
