A Pennsylvania woman was beaten to death and her body was found abandoned in a motel room. Now, police say a man has been charged with her murder.
According to officials, the woman was killed during a domestic violence incident on June 5.
An autopsy was conducted and revealed the 38-year-old woman died from blunt force trauma. The coroner’s office ruled her death a homicide, but her name has not been released.
Times Leader reported Joseph Alan Sarmiento, 36, was charged with an open count of criminal homicide.
He was initially charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment charges, according to authorities.
However, those charges were withdrawn in place of the criminal homicide charge filed against him on June 6, officials said.
Demmon has booked into jail, and is being held without bail, police said.
Police have not released a possible motive or a reason for the alleged killing.
