Police in Indiana have announced they have suspended the public searches for Scottie Morris, the missing 14-year-old boy who went missing last week after getting into an argument with his mother.

Eaton Deputy Police Chief Chris Liggett shared the news and said the department plans on discussing the next steps with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, local agencies and the Indiana State Police, WXIN reported.

As Front Page Detectives previously reported, Indiana State Police issued a statewide Silver Alert on March 17 for Morris, who was last seen around 8:30 p.m. on March 16 in Eaton, where he lives.

Before the teenager disappeared, Eaton Police Chief Jay Turner said the boy got into "just a normal mom and son argument” that was about "punishment."

Over the weekend, search parties, which included volunteers, emergency responders and law enforcement, searched throughout Eaton and the surrounding area for the missing teenager.

Turner said they have “checked everywhere we could possibly think of” and now the Department of Natural Resources will be checking local rivers and ponds out of “due diligence,” according to WXIN.

He added, “To search anything else would kind of be redundant because we’ve searched everything more than twice.”

Felicia Morris, Scottie’s mother, pleaded for her son to come home and said she needs to know he is safe.
