The rebel warlord Yevgeny Prigozhin is expected to be laid to rest today in Russia, and at the same cemetery where the parents of the country's president, Vladimir Putin, are buried, according to sources.

As Front Page Detectives previously reported, Wagner boss Prigozhin died on Aug. 23 when his private jet crashed outside of Moscow and all 10 onboard were killed.

Prigozhin became the latest addition to the number of high-profile deaths, totaling at least 40 individuals, connected to Putin since he started war with Ukraine.

While Moscow’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov didn’t give any details regarding Prigozhin’s funeral, The Sun reported that it will take place today in the capital.

Prigozhin is reportedly going to be interred at the Serafimovskoye cemetery in St. Petersburg, where many high-profile military figures have been buried.

If that is the case, The Sun reported Prigozhin will be buried very close to Putin’s own parents, even though the disgruntled tyrant is not expected to be in attendance.

However, Peskov said Putin’s family has organized the affair but the “presence of the President is not envisaged,” The Sun reported.

This comes after theories have linked Putin to the fiery crash, which took place just two months after Prigozhin’s failed coup attempt.

Prigozhin’s top lieutenants, who also died in the plane crash, are likewise expected to be buried in St. Petersburg.

The Sun said Putin’s henchmen have flanked the gates of the St. Petersburg cemetery ahead of the funeral and they have also been spotted at other Moscow burial sites.
