Russia is grappling with unprecedented casualties, reportedly losing 1,740 troops in a single day amid intense clashes in northeastern Ukraine.

The country's military reportedly is engaged in aggressive assaults across more than 30 villages and towns in the Kharkiv region as part of a relentless ground offensive.
