Registered sex offender in California now accused of killing his estranged wife

A convicted sex offender in San Jose, California, has been arrested after he allegedly killed his estranged wife.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found the woman in the area of Jerilyn Drive at Dale Drive on Oct. 27, KRON reported.
She was unconscious and declared dead at a local medical facility, according to KRON.
Detectives found the suspect, Ignacio Espinoza, 52, in Modesto, California and booked him on charges of homicide and assault with a deadly weapon, according to KRON.
Police have not said what led them to charge Espinoza or the possible motive in the killing.
Espinoza has prior convictions and is a registered sex offender on multiple sex-related charges consisting of rape and lewd or lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14, KRON reported.
