As the search for Nancy Guthrie continues, Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie made a return to the studio on March 5. Though she did not appear on air, the journalist visited the New York City set to thank her co-anchors for their support as she copes with the grief of her mother’s disappearance.
The visit marked Savannah Guthrie's first appearance at Studio 1A in Rockefeller Center since Nancy Guthrie went missing on February 1. During the visit, Savannah appeared teary-eyed as she hugged colleagues.

The 54-year-old expressed her wish to return to the show once the time is right. For now, she is focused on her family. Guthrie’s co-anchors discussed her visit during the fourth hour of Today and again expressed their love and support for her.
Jenna Bush Hager said, “She said that she has the intention to return to the show even though it feels the hardest thing to do. It’s also her home and where she feels so loved. She is beyond loved here.”
Sheinelle Jones praised Guthrie's courage during this difficult time and said, “I see it as we’re in this storm and we’re not out of the storm but there’s a light somewhere even in the midst of the storm, and I think her coming here and just being able to be with us, for us to be able to hug her — I think it’s a step.”
Savannah Guthrie, who has been a co-host of Today since 2012, made her last appearance on the NBC morning show on January 30. Since then, she has taken time off to focus on the investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance. Meanwhile, Hoda Kotb has filled in for her on the show.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen at her home in Tucson, Arizona, on the night of January 31. Family members dropped her off at her house after dinner. She was reported missing the following day after she failed to attend her usual Church service.
Since then, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have been investigating the case. Surveillance cameras at her home were disconnected shortly before her supposed abduction, and the investigators found blood on the porch.
Despite the FBI releasing Ring camera footage of a masked individual outside Nancy Guthrie's home, no arrests have been made in the case after over a month of investigation.
On March 3, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos spoke with NBC News and revealed that investigators may soon make progress in the case, as they had gathered several clues.“I think that investigators are definitely closer. We’ve got a lot of intel, a lot of leads, but now it’s time to just go to work,” Nanos said.
Investigators are also analyzing a video from doorbell cameras in Nancy Guthrie's neighborhood that shows a car speeding on the road around the time of her alleged kidnapping.
Meanwhile, Savannah and her siblings continue to hope and pray for their mother’s safe return. The family has promised a $1 million reward for any information that could lead them to Nancy Guthrie.
