A senior citizen is in custody after he allegedly shot and killed a man on a Mississippi highway, authorities said.
The Claiborne County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of shots fired on Highway 18 in Hermanville, Mississippi, shortly before midnight on Dec. 30.
Deputies found Morques Johnson, 43, dead at the scene.
The Vicksburt Post reported deputies located the alleged shooter, 84-year-old Carl Lee Wells, at his home and took him into custody.
Wells is being held in jail without bond on a first-degree murder charge.
Law enforcement officials have not released a possible motive for the deadly shooting.
