Two men who police in Jackson, Mississippi say killed a 12-year-old during a drive-by shooting were arrested, according to a report.

WAPT reported that Otha Brown and Takuan Cohen, both 18 years old, were arrested Friday in connection to the death of the minor.

Brown is charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a stolen vehicle and drive0by shooting. Cohen is charged with murder, aggravated assault and drive-by shooting.

Police say Brown and Cohen were riding in a black Toyota Avalon carjacked from Sykes Park Apartments on May 14, according to WAPT. Adrian McDouglas died May 26 during a shooting on Ventura Drive after his promotion ceremony to seventh grade at Midtown Public Charter School.

The 12-year-old was in town after his mother moved the family to Hattiesburg to get her children away from violent crime, WAPT reported.
