The son left the home where the incident happened, went about half a mile down the road to another home and called 911 to surrender, WSAZ reported.

Kinder has been charged with murder, according to West Virginia court records.

He is being held in jail without bond as only a circuit court judge in West Virginia can set bond on a murder charge.
