The Butler County Sheriff’s Office in Kansas said Kristopher and Candace Valadez, both 32, were apprehended in Simpsonville, South Carolina, on July 31, and the pair are expected to be extradited to Sedgwick County to face charges, KAKE reported.

The pair, who formerly were residents of Wichita, are accused of fatally shooting 19-year-old German Clerici in February 2010.

“Information was discovered that prompted investigators to conduct follow-up interviews un-covering even more information along with new evidence," the sheriff's office said of investigators recently taking a fresh look at the case.

Officials have not provided a possible motive for the crime.
