A 19-year-old Alabama woman was gunned down at a community center last month and now police say a Montgomery woman now faces a murder charge.
Around 4:30 p.m. on May 27, Montgomery, Alabama, police were called after a shooting occurred at the Sheridan Heights Community Center, police said.
According to authorities, 19-year-old Keiana Johnson was taken from the scene by ambulance with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Jef’Daysha Woods, 20, was taken into custody on June 1 in connection with the fatal shooting of Johnson, police said.
The Montgomery Advertiser reported after responding to the community center, police were called to a hospital for a second woman who was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, which happened in the same shooting.
Montgomery police Capt. Saba Coleman told the Advertiser she could not release the identity of this person, as the injuries were non-fatal, but added “there wasn’t a third subject involved.”
Woods was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility and was released on $150,000 bond.
