A Tennessee teen was working at Five Guys restaurant when he was shot and killed in the parking lot. Now, police say the suspect has been arrested and charged with murder.
Just after midnight on Sept. 15, police said 17-year-old Contario Sevion was shot twice in the parking lot of a Five Guys restaurant in East Memphis, Tennessee.
Carmen Sevion, the grandmother of the victim, told WREG that Contario worked there and was taking out the trash at the time he was targeted.
Shortly after the shooting, police said 19-year-old Zavon Payne was charged with facilitation of first-degree murder in the death of Sevion, WREG reported. Police also said a 16-year-old was charged with murder in the shooting, but the juvenile was not identified.
The teen’s name was released this week, as Dajimon Payne, 16, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm in a dangerous felony, according to authorities.
Officials said a judge with the juvenile court system stated Dajimon Payne had been transferred to adult court on murder charges.
Zavon Payne told officers he did not see the shooting but said his brother got out of the car with the gun and then he heard 10 to 15 shots, WREG reported.
