A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in Alabama this week and police have arrested a suspect in the case.

Authorities announced the arrest of 18-year-old Ladamien Rogers-Wallace in connection to the shooting death of 16-year-old David Martin Jr., reported.

Around 3 p.m. on Jan. 17, police responded to the Valley Hills public housing community in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for a report of a person shot, according to

When officers arrived, they found Martin in a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, reported.

He was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, according to

Investigators worked overnight, developing several possible suspects, which led to the arrest of Rogers-Wallace, reported.

Rogers-Wallace has been charged with capital murder and is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, according to Police did not say if the suspect knew the victim. They also didn't detail a possible motive in the case.

Police are still searching for several persons of interest, reported.
