A Tennessee man was sleeping at a Salvation Army shelter when another man killed him, according to authorities.
Corey Allen now faces murder charges after the victim was found dead at the homeless shelter, police said.
Both Allen and the victim were staying at the Salvation Army shelter and police said Allen has no known ties to the area.
The victim’s name has not been released yet, as authorities said it will be released once his next of kin is notified.
The Leaf Chronicle reported a motive in the slaying and the man’s cause of death were not immediately known.
The Special Operations Homicide Unit investigated the death and determined it was a homicide.
Allen was arrested and was sent to the Montgomery County Jail for criminal homicide, police said. He remains in custody without bond while the killing remains under investigation.
