Tennessee man known as ‘C-Murda’ charged with criminal homicide after fatal shooting, police say
A Tennessee man known as “C-Murda” is accused of shooting dead a man who was dating the mother of his child.
Just after midnight on June 1, security at HomeTowne Studios in Nashville found the victim, Waymon Green, 41, lying on the sidewalk in front of a motel room. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witness statements and surveillance video allegedly indicate a man and woman were in the vicinity at the time and walked away after the shooting.
Police charged Charles P. Ewin, 46, with Green’s murder after a criminal informant claimed to investigators “C-Murda” shot the victim, and the victim’s girlfriend, Stephanie Earegood, allegedly was somehow involved, WKRN-TV reported.
Earegood has a child with the suspect, according to the station.
On June 8, police took Earegood into custody on an unrelated outstanding warrant. Earegood allegedly told detectives she had been dating Green but left him because he was abusive. She said she rented a room at the motel to get away from him.

The night of the murder, she allegedly first said she left HomeTowne Studios prior to the shooting because she spotted Green in the area.
She allegedly then changed her story and told detectives she got texts she believed was a “date” who had arrived at the motel and when she went outside to meet the person Green jumped her, pulled out a weapon, and forced her back inside her room.
Earegood claimed someone knocked on the door and when Green went to answer it she heard an altercation followed by a gunshot. Earegood allegedly eventually told detectives the shooter was “C-Murda,” who had come to check on her.
Police brought Ewin in for questioning. He allegedly admitted to knowing the victim, but he claimed he had nothing to do with the shooting and was at the motel in order to pick up Earegood and leave.
Ewin faces a criminal homicide charge and is being held on $500,000 bond.
