A man and woman in Texas have been arrested and charged with kidnapping an 18-year-old woman, chaining her to a bed and sexually assaulting her for a month, according to authorities.

According to KPRK, officials said the teenager first met 31-year-old Jose Reyes, who gained her trust and then lured her to his house.

Investigators determined the victim had decided to move to Reyes’ home to further her relationship with him. However, when she got there, she learned he was in a relationship with 29-year-old Jaqueline Macias, KPRK reported.

The teen tried to leave, but Reyes and Macias held her captive, authorities said.

The victim alleged to authorities she was chained to a bed and forced to have sex repeatedly for about 30 days, KPRK reported.

On the night of July 16, Reyes and Macias left the house briefly and the teen was able to get out of her restraints, climb out the bedroom window and escape, officials said.

The victim then knocked on multiple doors in the neighborhood until one of the neighbors agreed to call 911, according to KPRK.

The suspects returned home about 10 minutes later and they were placed under arrest.

Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman told KPRK the case was an “evil thing” and the victim “did everything that she could, all her fibers she could bring to her strength to get out of her restraints.”

On July 17, Macias’ public defender said in court that she and Reyes share a 2-week-old child together, KPRK reported.

Reyes was being held on $100,000 bond and Macias’ was set at $50,000 officials said.

Investigators said more charges are possible pending medical tests.
