Woman found dead at funeral home. Police say she was shot outside the Texas parlor.

A man in Texas is accused of shooting and killing a woman outside a funeral parlor before going after the victim’s sister, police said.
According to the Corsicana Police Department, a woman called 911 dispatchers at 4:55 p.m. March 27 about a disturbance and shots fired outside the M.R. Smith Parlor for Funerals.
“While on patrol in the area, CPD Sgt. Mark Nanny saw a man chasing a woman, turned around and used his vehicle to shield her,” Corsicana Chief of Police Robert Johnson said. “The man then ran northwest behind the funeral home.”
The woman told the sergeant on the scene that “she was fleeing the known man who had been shooting at her and had just shot her sister outside the funeral home,” Johnson said.
Corsicana Fire Rescue paramedics pronounced the shooting victim dead at the scene, where detectives located a firearm they believe was used in the crime.
Cpl. Travis Wallace called the alleged shooter on his cell phone and negotiate his peaceful surrender, police said.
The man is now in custody and the Corsicana Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division has taken over the case. The suspect’s name has not been released.
