A woman was found dead near the dumpster of a motel in January, and now police say they have arrested the suspected killer.
On Jan. 29, police in Austin, Texas, responded to a motel and found the woman near the dumpster. The victim was unresponsive and had a gunshot wound.
Austin police identified the victim as Angela Fresquez.
First responders tried life-saving measures, but Fresquez was pronounced dead.
A medical examiner determined the cause of death was a gunshot wound and listed her killing as a homicide, according to Austin police. Police continued to investigate.
On Feb. 14, officers arrested Matthew Moreno in connection to the homicide. Investigators have not said how Moreno knew the victim or the possible motive in the case.
He was charged with first-degree murder and is being held in jail without bond.
