A Texas Man Stabbed His Dad to Death on Father's Day. Now, He'll Spend the Rest of His Life Behind Bars.

A Texas man is serving life behind bars after he recently admitted to fatally stabbing his dad to death on Father’s Day.

According to reports, around 1:30 a.m. on June 19, 2022, police in Texarkana, Texas, responded to a murder at a home.

Police said that Michael Paxton, 65, was found dead at the scene, and his wife was rushed to the hospital for treatment of wounds she sustained in the attack.

The couple’s son, Shaun Paxton, was arrested at the scene.

The Texarkana Gazette reported that Shaun Paxton, now 44, pleaded guilty to murder and aggravated assault on a family member. A judge later ordered him to serve two life sentences in connection with the crime.

According to the outlet, police were unable to determine a motive for the stabbings.
