Law enforcement officials in Texas have announced that an 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of his underage girlfriend months ago.

On Nov. 20, 2023, officers responded to a park in Frisco after receiving a report of suspicious activity, according to the Frisco Police Department.

At the scene, police said they found a 17-year-old female deceased in a pond.

Officials believe the teen victim drowned, and her death was ruled a suicide.

After a months-long investigation, authorities determined the victim’s boyfriend, Zander Tashman, helped his girlfriend kill herself.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Tashman and the teen was arrested on Feb. 18.

Tashman was charged with aiding suicide and his bond was set at $10,000, officials said.

If convicted, Tashman faces up to two years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
