Two Teens Used Dating App To Lure Man To Robbery, Where The Victim Was Shot In The Back: Police

Two teens are accused of using a dating app to lure a man to a robbery, where they also shot the victim.

Recently, 17-year-old Abigail Funes and a 16-year-old unnamed boy were arrested and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated robbery for shooting the victim, according to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.

On March 17, Funes lured a man to her location using a dating app, investigators said.

As the victim got out of his car, he was shot in the back by the boy, police said. The victim got back in his vehicle and drove himself to the hospital as he called 911.

The victim was later released from the hospital.

Police found the suspect staying with a family member in a nearby neighborhood. They also found two rifles, two spent casings and a machete during the police investigation.
