First responders spoke with the homeowners at the scene while EMS checked on the child.

The HCSO posted a photo of the unidentified girl on their social media pages in an attempt to find out if anyone knew who she was.

Deputies said they received a call from Aliza Perez. She told dispatchers she needed to turn herself in for leaving the child, authorities said.

Investigators confirmed Perez was the mother of the little girl and said they determined she had left her on the roadside.
