"There was an odor"— Suitcase Stuffed With Human Remains Discovered In Philadelphia Alleyway

A suitcase has been found in Philadelphia with a human torso stuffed inside
The Philadelphia Police Department found a man’s body stuffed in a suitcase along an alleyway. An investigation was promptly launched. Subsequently, officers noticed an odor at the victim’s home, which provided them with a lead in the case.
The discovery came on May 22 at about 9:25 p.m. When officers arrived on the 600 block of East Hilton Street, they spotted a gray suitcase lying in an alleyway behind a home. Police soon uncovered a “human upper torso” from the suitcase.

According to Law&Crime, authorities identified the torso as belonging to Vincent Good, 53. As the subsequent investigation began, police found two more large trash bags with additional human remains, which were in the early stage of decomposition.
The Philadelphia Office of the Medical Examiner ruled Good’s death a homicide caused by “multiple gunshot wounds.” Authorities noted that no arrests have been made yet in connection with the case.
In addition, the police department also said no motive behind the homicide has been established. According to authorities, Good was a resident on the 5700 block of Lenoard Street. His home is located 3 miles from where his remains were found inside the suitcase. Police believed that Good was killed at this location.
Police Believe Victim Was Killed At His Home And Then Dumped In Suitcase
Police say victim was killed at home and then dumped in suitcase
The victim must have been slaughtered at his home and then dumped in the alleyways, as neighbors claimed that the suitcase was not there the day before.
Investigators reached the theory after interviewing a few witnesses near the location of the discovery. Howard James, a neighbor, told officers and local NBC affiliate WCAU, “It had to be late last night or early this morning, the suitcase was put there, because it wasn't there yesterday.”
He added, “Now I can say I saw everything … all I saw was a suitcase. There was an odor." James said that the suitcase was covered in flies.
Meanwhile, Good’s neighbors on Leonard Street complained about noticing a foul smell in and around the house. One neighbor told officers, “It smelled like a dead body. It was funky. It was horrible. It took me two to three days to get the smell out of my house.”
Another echoed, “It smelled horrible. I didn’t know if it was dead mice. I didn’t know if it was the basement because of the dogs.”
The investigation is currently ongoing as police look for the next lead that can solve the case.
