Man arrested after complaining about bad weather in ‘offensive’ video posted to TikTok

An Egyptian man living in Kuwait was arrested after he posted a TikTok video in which he rants about bad weather and getting caught in a blinding dust storm while driving.
“I’m inside a dust storm right now, I literally can’t see anything in front of me,” the man said in the clip that went viral on the social media app, the Associated Press reported.

He then added, “Fine, Kuwait, fine.”
The Persian Gulf sheikhdom’s Ministry of Interior claimed the video was “offensive” and after the man’s arrest authorities would “take the necessary legal action against him.”
According to the AP, Kuwait is known for quashing criticism through enforcement of strict cybercrime laws, which many point out are an affront to free expression.
