‘Tone-Deaf’ Beauty Influencer Under Fire for ‘Bragging’ About Nose Job in Iran as Conflict Escalates

Women traveled to Iran for plastic surgery and got caught in a war.
A beauty influencer traveled to Iran for a nose job, but the experience turned into a story she says she will be telling for generations.
Alma Verseau, a Dubai-based content creator, happened to be in Iran during the Twelve-Day War in June 2025. While she did get the nose of her dreams, her post-op recovery came with an unexpected challenge—getting back home safely began to feel like a distant dream.
“Rare aesthetic: You got to Iran for a nose job with your best friend and get stuck in war,” she captioned a video of herself crying on TikTok.
However, Verseau and her friend avoided the worst of the conflict by hiding at a family member’s house in a nearby village.

Social Media Outrage
Verseau’s video has received more than 2 million views, with many viewers questioning her decision to travel to Iran for the procedure.
“In a world with Turkey, YOU CHOOSE IRAN???,” one person commented, according to The New York Post. “Nose job in Iran, seriously?” another commenter added.
“Who would travel to Iran after Trump was threatening the region?” one individual asked.
“What possessed you to go to Iran in these times?” one user asked. “I’ve never heard a single person say ‘I’m going to Iran for a nose job,’” another commenter added.
Verseau responded by saying she had no idea a war would break out in Iran when she planned her trip for the rhinoplasty procedure. “This was not predicted. Nothing like this had happened [in Iran] in over 40 years. So it was definitely a shock when it did happen,” she said.
“A lot of people are asking why I would get my nose done in Iran instead of a place like Turkey,” she said, revealing that her friend had referred her to her doctor. “The procedure (of her friend) was really good.”
Iran, a Rhinoplasty Hub
Verseau is not the only person choosing Iran for a rhinoplasty procedure. According to AriaMedTour you can hardly walk down a street in Tehran and not come across women with bandages fixed on the nasal bridge.
“Tens of thousands of nose surgeries are being performed in Iran annually. Some Iranian rhinoplasty surgeons are so prolific and popular that they do several nose job operations in a single day,” the website stated.
Another influencer, Liya, also traveled to the country for a procedure. “Got a nose job in Iran,” she wrote, as per the New York Post.
“Woke up to the sound of bombs for 12 nights.”
Meanwhile, Operation Epic Fury, a joint U.S.–Israeli military campaign against Iran, began on February 28, 2026. Amid the ongoing conflict, Iran has named Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of slain leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei, as the country’s new supreme leader.
