Months after political commentator Charlie Kirk was assassinated, the partner of his alleged attacker was spotted in a quiet suburban neighborhood in Texas.

On September 10, 2025, Kirk was fatally shot in the neck by a rooftop sniper during a debate event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, authorities said. Police identified the suspect as Tyler James Robinson.

The 22-year-old suspect was subsequently charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, two counts of obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering and commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child.

Six months later, Robinson’s partner, Lance Twiggs, was seen living in seclusion in a quiet neighborhood, according to a report by the Daily Mail. Twiggs fled St. George, Utah, and has since been living with a Mormon family in Texas.

In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Twiggs had long unkempt hair and was wearing a Taco Bell T-shirt. He was seen holding a hardcover fantasy novel.

Twiggs Claims He Was Kicked Out Of House By Parents

Twiggs, who officials described as a transgender woman, is a “hardworking student,” and was living with Robinson after being asked to leave his parents' home, according to the New York Post.

“I loved Lance. His parents kicked him out of his house, and he lived with us. His parents never sat right with my family,”Braylon Nielsen, 19, said.

“He had straight As. He was very hardworking, not a big partier […] He just took care of people,” Nielsen added.

“Everything I’ve heard about him, he was a great kid. He was nice. He worked hard,” Ben Kaufman said. Kaufman is the superintendent of Twiggs’ high school.

In Texas, Twiggs apparently spends most of his time gaming and reading novels and relies on takeout food. He was also seen running errands for his parents, according to the New York Post.

Twiggs Involved in the Assassination?

Investigators discovered a note Robinson wrote to Twiggs explaining what he was about to do and also found text messages sent while Robinson was fleeing authorities. The note was allegedly found under Twiggs’ computer keyboard hours before Robinson drove to Utah University to carry out the assassination.

“[Y]ou are all I worry about love,” Robinson reportedly texted Twiggs before surrendering to law enforcement.

There has been speculation that Twiggs was also involved in the assassination. However, officials have not charged him with a crime as there has been no solid proof that he was aware of the assassination beforehand.

Background

Authorities said the shooting occurred at 12:23 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time during a Turning Point USA event Titled "The American Comeback Tour." The attack took place about 20 minutes after the event began in front of an audience of about 3000 people.

Kirk was taken to Timpanogos Regional Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

On September 14, 2025 a public vigil for Kirk was held at John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington. The event was attended by House Speaker Mike Johnson, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
