Transgender Lawyer’s Violent Courtroom Meltdown Lands Him in Jail — Firm Shut Down

Rob Hopkins during a courtroom incident in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma, where he was arrested after a custody hearing that later led to the closure of his law firm.
An Oklahoma attorney who identified as transgender went berserk during a February custody battle, sparking a courtroom meltdown that ended with his arrest.
The chaos unfolded as Rob Hopkins appeared to represent his client in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma. What began as a routine hearing quickly spiraled after he repeatedly clashed with Judge Lori Jackson, ultimately leading to him being jailed for contempt, according to Fox News Digital.
“I’m a transgender attorney practicing all over the state!” Rob Hopkins shouted during the meltdown.
Surveillance footage, audio, and body camera footage reviewed by the outlet showed Hopkins actively resisting arrest by bailiffs. He is also seen splaying his body across the judge’s bench, causing important documents to be scattered everywhere.
“You’re HURTING ME!” Hopkins yelled, as people watched in shock. “I can't BREATHE!” he shrieked again, louder.
The attorney twisted, turned, and contorted his body to evade the handcuffs that officers used to restrain him.
“I felt very threatened by this person,” one individual in the courtroom could be heard telling judge Jackson.
During the hearing, Hopkins repeatedly interrupted the judge and was warned that he would be held in contempt.
To this, Hopkins claimed he was being discriminated against due to his gender, leading to further tensions in the otherwise quiet courtroom.
“It’s because I’m a transgender attorney practicing all over the state,” Hopkins stated, to which Jackson replied, “I don’t know what you are. I don't know you from Adam.”
Jackson said Hopkins was being “entirely inappropriate.”

The attorney claimed he has since closed his law firm Hopkins Law and Associates, P.C. due to the contempt charge and fallout from the hearing.
Soon, bailiffs entered the courtroom, causing even more chaos in the courtroom.
“DO NOT HURT ME!” Hopkins yelled at them as they approached him. “I’m being thrown down!” he shouted, as he threw himself on the judge’s bench before he was forced onto the floor by the officers.
As it was getting difficult to handcuff him, several more officers arrived and Hopkins managed to attract a large crowd from surrounding hallways with his loud outbursts.
“Get a female officer, now!” Hopkins demanded. “Call 911!” he shrieked, as the officers attempted to arrest him.
“I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe!” he declared.
Hopkins claimed the bailiffs threw his glasses away and ordered them to place them back on his face. The footage reviewed by Fox News Digital appears to refute this claim.
“Put them on my face,” Hopkins demanded repeatedly, as the officers attempted to place Hopkins into a seated position and remove him from the court. “PUT THEM ON MY FACE!” Hopkins shouted again.

He did not respond to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment regarding either the proceedings in question or the reason for his firm’s closure.
“We are closing our doors, but we would like to thank you all for your kindness, support, and most of all loyalty for the last 13 years! If your matter remains open no worries we will be wrapping it up with a nice bow before then! And if for any reason it remains outstanding we will get it to the end zone!” the law firm stated on Facebook.
