The Los Angeles Police Department on Thursday arrested 21-year-old singer David Anthony Burke, better known by his stage name D4vd. The arrest follows after his alleged involvement in the death of the 14-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Her body was found inside a Tesla registered to the singer.

Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s Family React On D4vd’s Arrest
After the singer’s arrest on Thursday, the grieving family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez broke their silence. Hernandez’s father, Jesus Rivas, told TMZ through his attorney, Patrick Steinfield. He said, “Thank God … justice for Celeste.”
The attorney also outlined how the Hernandez family plans to proceed in seeking justice. Steinfield said that if David Anthony Burke is charged with murder, the family will exercise their rights under Marsy's Law. They plan to attend Burke’s arraignment and hold a press conference afterward, where they will speak and answer questions from reporters.

Legal Proceedings Against D4vd So Far
According to a previous report by a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, David Anthony Burke was previously arrested in Hollywood Hills. The arrest was based on a probable cause warrant and his lack of cooperation with the investigation.
Following his arrest, the case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for possible charges. Meanwhile, Burke’s defense attorneys have pushed back against the allegations.
In a joint statement, his attorneys said, “Let us be clear - the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death. There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed. David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
Discovery Of Crime
Celeste Rivas Hernandez had previously been reported missing three times. On the first two occasions, she returned soon after her disappearance was reported to police. However, the third disappearance was more serious.
A day after what would have been the teenager’s 15th birthday, her decomposing body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to David Anthony Burke. The abandoned vehicle had been left inside a police impound yard.
The cause of death has not been released by authorities, but her connection to the singer made him a suspect. At the time her body was found, D4vd was on a world tour. His arrest does not specify the nature of his alleged involvement in the death of Celeste.
