A fight at a party between teenagers ended with a shooting and one dead, police said.
Now, an 18-year-old faces murder charges and spending decades in prison.
This week, Sage Hicke, 18, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide in La Cross County, Wisconsin, according to WLAX. He is accused of killing 15-year-old Storm Vondrashek, a high school student, in late May.
Investigators say the shooting involved three people, including Vondrashek, 17-year-old Jackson Greengrass and Hicke. All of the teens were armed, according to WLAX.
Hicke attended a party when Vondrashek and Greengrass arrived and confronted him, according to WEAU.
Vondrashek and Hicke got into a fight and witnesses said the 15-year-old hit Hicke in the head with a gun before the shooting, according to WEAU. Greengrass was the first to fire shots and witnesses reported seeing Hicke firing at the other teens.
Police found 10 shell casings at the scene. Vondrashek died at the scene. Greengrass was taken to the hospital and later released.
