An Alabama man is accused of killing the mother of his daughter while she was working at a Home Depot in Florida, and now authorities allege his own mother was involved.

On Aug. 11, detectives said 20-year-old Keith Agee fatally shot 18-year-old Brooklyn Sims as she was working at a Home Depot in Escambia County.

According to witnesses, Keith walked into the store and said something to Sims before opening fire five times. Sims died at the scene and two other workers suffered graze injuries, officials said.

Police said Keith was texting his mother, 50-year-old Sheila Agee, before the shooting and said, “Shi ain’t do nun but cost me money,” WEAR-TV reported.

After the shooting, Keith went to a nearby restaurant and called police to surrender.

According to authorities, Sheila was messaging her son and allegedly helping him plan the shooting. “Ok then stop texting me I’m working. Do whatever you want to do,” the mother allegedly wrote Keith before police say he murdered Sims. “It don’t affect me either f****** way.”

Sheila has now been arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail in Alabama awaiting extradition to Escambia County, Florida, officials said. She was charged with one count of principal to first-degree murder.

Police said texts from Sheila show her egging her son on to commit the murder.

“Ok I’ll call you and tell you mf if you want to go to jail I’ll tell you when we get close but if you don’t come kill her you a mf b****,” she wrote, according to officials. “Don’t call nanny and tell her she will try and talk you out of it.”

Sims and Keith shared a 2-year-old daughter, Xia Xang Parnell, one of the survivors, told WEAR-TV. “It was a rough situation between them trying to be together," Parnell said. "Recently she’s just been trying to co-parent with him. That’s all she kind of wanted to do. … All she ever talked about was that baby. Kacey is and was her life.”

According to WPMI, two women filed a petition for protection from abuse orders against Keith on Feb. 15, 2023. The women were not identified, but a judge granted both requests on March 21.

One of the women said Keith threatened to shoot and kill her, and he was driving by her home. The other woman said Keith showed up while she was at work, and he broke her windshield. His behavior allegedly escalated, as he pushed her, stomped on her, destroyed her property and threatened to shoot her mother.

Keith was also arrested in Alabama on three counts of domestic violence and charged with domestic violence in another case in 2022, but both cases were dropped, authorities said.

He remains in jail and is facing one charge of first-degree premeditated murder, officials said.
