Man accused of attempted murder after he allegedly set his traveling companion on fire in Alabama

A man in Alabama is accused of setting a woman on fire after the two had a disagreement, authorities said.
On Dec. 5, officers in Calhoun County responded to a call around 8 a.m. about a woman walking along a road in Anniston who had suffered severe burns, Birmingham’s WIAT reported.

According to the Anniston Police Department, the 34-year-old victim, who police did not publicly identify, was traveling with Henry Lee Wesley when the two got into a fight. Wesley, 54, allegedly doused the woman with a flammable liquid and set her on fire.
The burn victim was rushed to an area hospital and is expected to recover from her injuries.
Online records show Wesley was charged with one count of attempted murder and was being held on bond at the Calhoun County Jail.
