Woman Found Dead in Closet After DoorDash Driver Reports Foul Smell, Family Speaks Out

A Doordash driver discovered a deceased woman inside an apartment and dialed 911.
In an unexpected turn of events, a Doordash delivery driver arrived at a North Carolina apartment and was told someone inside the house was dead.
When authorities with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were dispatched to the 4300 block of Central Avenue, they found a woman’s body in a closet, behind a door and wrapped with a number of towels. Investigators said the body was already decomposing, and a foul smell filled the room.
The victim was identified as 26-year-old Evelin Carolina Enamorado-Cisnado.
“On Tuesday, March 10, shortly after 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a welfare check call for service in the 4300 block of Central Ave. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim with apparent life threatening injuries. Investigation Points to Former Partner
A scorned lover, 23-year-old Lhis Brito-Costa was identified as the killer and arrested after an initial investigation. She has been charged with first-degree murder, according to NBC affiliate WCNC.
Brito-Costa claimed she had been in a relationship with Enamorado-Cisnado, and shot her to death after allegedly finding out that she was also dating someone else.
A judge at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse ordered Brito-Costa to remain in custody without bond while the investigation remains ongoing.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) also placed a detainer on Brito-Costa according to reports.
The Arrest Warrant
According to an arrest warrant, [Brito-Costa] “unlawfully, willfully, and with malice aforethought killed and murdered [Enamorado-Cisnado].”
She is scheduled for her next court hearing on April 2.
Family Member Pens a Post
A family member, Guadalupe Cisneros, took to social media to speak about how the incident left the family grieving.
“How (could) that miserable woman take her life without mercy just because my niece didn’t want to be with her anymore,” Cisneros wrote.
Cisneros described that a “young man who went to leave an order felt a bad smell and he warned the police”, and that’s how Enamorado-Cisnado’s body was discovered.
However, it is unclear who informed the Doordash driver about the dead body inside the apartment.
“I can only imagine what my niece suffered and I want to cry. It hurts so much in my heart. And we’re going to miss you a lot my beautiful girl and we’ll always remember you in our hearts,” the post continued.
Enamorado-Cisnado is based out of Honduras and the family is trying to send her remains to her home country.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing, authorities said.
