WWE Wrestler Arrested: Ludwig Kaiser Attacks Neighbor Who Interrupted Him Being Uncontrollably Intimate With a Woman

Popular WWE wrestler Ludwig Kaiser faced arrest by the Orange County jail authorities after he allegedly attacked one of his neighbors. The 35-year-old Florida resident got into a brawl inside a residential elevator after the other man interrupted his intimate moment with one of his female companions.

The victim, whose name remained unidentified, was struck repeatedly by the German pro-wrestler when asked to behave more courteously with the woman. Once the news of the arrest circulated widely, the lineup for the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide event was cancelled, since it included a stint by Kaiser.

According to Kaiser’s arrest affidavit, he was taken into custody over a misdemeanor battery charge on May 20. The alleged incident occurred a month ago, in April, inside an apartment complex in the Lake Eola neighborhood.

The victim was inside a residential elevator when he noticed the wrestler aggressively kissing the woman he was with. According to the affidavit, their behavior was defined as uncontrollably intimate, prompting the man to interrupt.

When the man was about to exit the elevator, he politely asked the duo to “please have some manners”. In response, Kaiser suddenly launched a fist and struck the man. According to reports, the wrestler continued to hit the man violently and push him to the ground.

The victim reported the incident to the police. When law enforcement authorities arrived, they observed the man had suffered consistent bruising that matched his account of the attack.

Investigators also reviewed surveillance footage, which showed the moment Kaiser began physically attacking the man. The wrestler chose to turn himself in to the police on the same day of the attack.

Kaiser was booked at the Orange County Jail but was later released on a $1000 bond. The WWE star, who is also known by his ring name ‘El Grande Americano’, was later dropped from his next event.

The wrestler, represented by his defense attorney Thomas D. Sommerville, waived his appearance for arraignment. Kaiser has pleaded not guilty to the battery charge.

In the ongoing investigation, the defense requested a trial and asked the court to allow 10 days from the scheduled arraignment date. Prosecutors were urged not to file any motions to the charging documents in the meantime.

The defense also requested travel permission for the wrestler because of his profession.

Attorney D.Sommerville said, “Mr. Barthel has no prior criminal history anywhere in the world and is not a danger to others. He maintains his innocence and has retained undersigned counsel to assist him in this matter. He has every intention of appearing at all required court appearances related to these allegations. Wherefore, for the foregoing reasons, the defendant respectfully requests this Honorable Court to enter an Order allowing him to travel out of the State of Florida and internationally."

A spokesperson for the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide announced the changes to the schedule on Instagram and wrote, “The ‘Serenata for El Grande Americano’ event scheduled for tonight in Mexico City has been canceled. We appreciate your understanding.”
