A second-degree attempted murder warrant has been issued for Berry. Investigators said they believe he is carrying at least one handgun and may have extra ammunition. In a public update, the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office said Berry is extremely fit and in good shape. The office said, “He is an excellent swimmer and diver, and is in good physical shape,” raising concerns about how long he could evade arrest.

Berry was last seen near River Trace Road in Dover, close to the Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. A police K-9 unit tracked his movement through that area. Search teams are now focusing on the land between River Trace Road, Highway 79, and Highway 232.

A blurry trail camera image was captured on the morning of April 1, showing Berry in camouflage clothing. Authorities believe he is trying to increase his survival by blending into the wooded region.

Investigators believe Berry does not have a phone or any other communication device. However, they have not ruled out the chance that someone might be helping him.

Several agencies are now working together on the manhunt. These include the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Department of Homeland Security. Officials say resources such as helicopters and state troopers are being used to scan the area.
