Woman’s boyfriend charged in death of her 4-year-old daughter in New Jersey, prosecutors said

A woman’s boyfriend has been charged in connection to the death of her 4-year-old daughter in New Jersey, prosecutors said.
On Dec. 30, first responders were called to a home in the 200 block of Wallace Street in Orange, New Jersey, for a report of an unresponsive child, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
There, officers found 4-year-old Laniyah Bloodworth. She was transported to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The child had unexplained bruising on her body, according to prosecutors.
Jamil Welch, 21, who is the mother’s boyfriend, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, according to prosecutors.
The cause and manner of death is pending an autopsy.
