D4vd, 21, has been jailed at the Los Angeles County Men's Central Jail after being charged with murder. The victim, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, 14, was found in September 2025 after her decomposed and dismembered remains were discovered in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the musician.

While Hernandez’s body was found in September 2025, the singer was not charged until April 2026. An autopsy report detailing her cause of death has now been released.

Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s Autopsy Report Disclosed

On April 22, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez a homicide. According to the autopsy report, the wounds had smooth edges, indicating they were caused by a sharp object. One wound to her upper abdomen was deep enough to penetrate the liver.

Another wound to the left side of her chest measured about 9/16 inch in length and extended roughly 2 inches deep, affecting nearby ribs.

Hernandez Reportedly Drugged Before Murder

Another finding in the autopsy report indicated a “presumptive positive” for certain substances in the body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Specifically, traces of methamphetamine and MDMA were detected. However, a separate test produced inconclusive results for both substances.

Both reports confirmed that Hernandez had alcohol in her system at the time of her death. However, whether it was a contributing factor was not determined in the autopsy.

Victim’s Body Was Disturbingly Mutilated

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner also detailed the condition of the body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez at the time of the autopsy. The remains were described as mutilated and partially skeletonized, and the left eye was missing.

This follows unverified claims on social media that the body had been frozen when discovered. Police and investigators previously denied those claims.

Authorities said Hernandez’s decomposed remains were found in black bags inside an abandoned Tesla registered to David Anthony Burke, also known as D4vd. Preliminary reports indicated the remains had been placed in separate bags.

The release of the autopsy report comes after a court order previously issued by the Los Angeles Police Department had placed the report under a security hold. However, as the report was released to the public, Odey Ukpo said it would provide clarity for the victim’s family.

Ukpo added, “It is unfathomable they have had to wait this long to learn what happened to their daughter. The transparency of the information contained in our findings and reports is essential for empowering the community to make informed changes to effectively reduce fear and allowing the community to take informed action.”
