Eric Swalwell Scandal Grows as Congresswoman Sparks Bombshell Allegations and Probe Calls

Eric Swalwell announces resignation from Congress amid s----- misconduct allegations.
Eric Swalwell has been faced with a series of s----- misconduct allegations. Amid the DC political controversy, on Monday, April 13, he announced that he would resign from Congress. His sudden announcement has sparked much speculation from both sides of the political aisle.
Swalwell has issued a written apology statement. He admitted to 'mistakes in his judgment', but still denied the allegations.
However, a Republican Congresswoman thinks that this is just the beginning, and he 'may go to jail.'
Eric Swalwell Resigns From Congress
Eric Swalwell announced that he would resign from Congress.
On April 13, Swalwell penned a written statement: 'I am deeply sorry to my family, staff, and constituents for the mistaken in judgement I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegations made against me. However, I must take responsibility and ownership for the mistakes I made.'
"I am aware of efforts to bring an immediate expulsion vote against me and other members. Expelling anyone in Congress without due process, within days of an allegation being made, is wrong," he added.
"But it’s also wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties. Therefore, I plan to resign my seat in Congress," Swalwell announced.

Following his statement, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) posted several times on X (formerly Twitter).
"However, don’t you dare say there weren’t grounds for your expulsion because there absolutely were," she wrote.
"He made the correct decision, but there still needs to be a full-fledged criminal investigation. Based on what I’m hearing, he may go to jail," the Republican Congresswoman added.
In another post the next day, she added, 'I am being told there will be more disgusting stuff coming out.'
Eric Swalwell Support Loosens Amid Scandal
Republican Congresswoman calls for full-fledged investigation against Eric Swalwell.
This comes after an ex-staffer of his claimed that he had r---- her. The woman is set to hold a press conference in Beverly Hills, where she is expected to add more to her allegations.
Another allegation against him further added fuel to the fire. A video has been circulating allegedly showing Swalwell with a s-- worker. Luna blasted on X, “Eric, why don’t you tell us a little about who was filming the video of the female s-- worker.”
Amid the scandal, Swalwell is seemingly losing his ground. Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego, who was apparently 'best friends' with him, also tried to distance himself from the controversy.
“I want to be clear: I had no knowledge of the allegations of assault, harassment, and predatory behavior against Eric Swalwell. I trusted someone who I believed was a friend, but it is now clear that he is not the person I thought I knew,” he wrote on X.
