The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie is nearing the 100-day mark. In nearly three months, neither the Pima County Sheriff’s Department nor the FBI has been able to identify a suspect in the case.

Meanwhile, the 83-year-old’s family has continued to appeal to the public for any relevant information in exchange for a substantial reward. Recently, a former FBI profiler and special agent outlined what he described as major mistakes made by the suspect at the crime scene that could become key evidence in identifying the individual.

What Does The Crime Scene Reveal About The Suspect?

Jim Clemente analyzed the crime scene evidence and said there was a strong possibility of a struggle during Nancy’s abduction. He supported that view by saying the area appeared heavily disturbed, which could suggest the suspect was panicked and relatively inexperienced.

Clemente also said the victim may have remained conscious during the ordeal. As a result, Nancy may have fought to escape her abductor, further disrupting the surroundings.

The suspect, meanwhile, may have rushed into committing the crime. According to Clemente’s analysis, the abductor appeared to pay little attention to detail, potentially leaving behind evidence that could be traced.

At the scene, investigators found traces of blood on the front porch of Nancy’s Arizona home. Subsequent DNA testing confirmed that the blood belonged to her and not to the suspect.

Meanwhile, a genetic genealogist recently said there may still be additional DNA evidence to recover at Guthrie’s home. Speaking on NewsNation, CeCe Moore suggested investigators should return to the scene and search for more crucial evidence.

He suggested that the mysterious masked man caught on the doorbell camera was seen holding a torch in his mouth as he tried tampering with the device. Moore claimed it was quite possible that there was some trace of the suspect’s saliva still in the house, which would be a crucial DNA intel to narrow down the search.

Moore further stated, “If there is something that is still on a surface, then I think it’s still possible that they could get that person’s DNA if they haven’t done that already. Now, of course, this is a little bit of a Hail Mary, but I think everything in this case right now, based on at least what we know, appears to be that at this point.”

FBI Blamed Local Authorities For Manhandling The Crime Scene

Authorities from the Pima County Sheriff’s office and the FBI have been investigating the case. But there seems to be some kind of clash that has been going on between the two agencies.

During an interview with Sean Hannity, FBI Chief Kash Patel blamed local authorities for manhandling the crime scene during the first crucial hours. He claimed that his agency was purposely kept out of the investigation.

Patel added, “The first 48 hours of anyone's disappearance are the most critical. For four days, we were kept out of the investigation. And when we were finally let in, Sean, look what we did.”
